POLYSTAR has set up a strong R&D department from the very beginning and invited a top scientist in the optic-storage field from the Institute of Science to be our chief scientist. We have also sent our related technicians to the State, German and Japan for advanced training. POLYSTAR has signed a long-term agreement with Panasonic and WAMO for joint development and traing program. Also a joint development certer of DVD technology has been established between POLYSTAR and Tsinghua University.
Achievements as example:
- Localization of more than 30 parts of equipments
- Reform of key parts of imported equipments including generator of the injection machine and security system of offset printer
- Capability of self-making two key parts such as metal targets
- Key process research: static stroking, DVD-9 stability
